COBRA Expansion The government will now subsidize 65 percent of health care insurance premiums for the unemployed under the COBRA program. Workers who are laid off can buy into the health insurance plans of their former employer with the 65 percent subsidy. New Homebuyer Housing Credit Are you a first time home buyer? If you are, a non-repayable tax credit of up to $8,000 is now available for qualified first-tie home buyers purchasing a principal residence on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009. For more information Click here. |
